Stagebuilder Duties
Stage builders are competently trained personnel that construct/dismantle scaffolding in accordance with OSHA and Electric Boat policies/procedures to provide safe trade access during various phases of construction. These tasks are frequently performed by teams of two or more stage builders that utilize various pneumatic and electric tools, forklifts, aerial lifts, telehandlers and overhead cranes.
Must Qualify for:
• Fall protection while working at heights greater than five feet • Lifting and handling steel scaffolding, various types of lumber including planks and plywood • Basic math skills and performing layouts with measuring tools • Operating forklifts, overhead cranes and aerial lifts • Working in a collaborative team environment and/or working independently • Following directions from supervision and meeting daily goals
Position Location
This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
Qualifications
Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent • OR a minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience • Valid drivers license • Available to work all shifts • Ability to complete the QP safety harness training and wear a QP provided safety harness • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience or training in one or more of the following: • Carpentry or stage building or construction • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes and aerial lifts • Experience with fall protection • Scaffolding experience and familiarity with Universal Scaffolding • Experience working in the construction industry, a manufacturing environment or related trade training • Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs • Military/Navy related experience
