Pay: $35.00 per hour.

Sign-on bonus: $2,500.

Location: Dallas VA Medical Center, 4500 S. Lancaster Rd, Dallas, TX 75216
Schedule: Not to exceed 40 hours per week, between 7:30AM-4:00PM.

Responsibilities:

Provide the following, which include, but are not limited to, the items listed below.

• The Carpenter alters and installs walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, doors, and windows, including all trim and finishes in all buildings on the hospital grounds.  
• The Carpenter constructs new drywall partitions and other temporary structures of wood construction.  
• The Carpenter installs windows and doors, mortising doors and frames for lock strike plates and keepers.    
• The Carpenter installs acoustical ceilings and floor coverings of all types including carpet.  
• The Carpenter builds forms for concrete walks, road curbing, and steps.  
• The Carpenter works with Formica, laminate coverings, and paneling.  
• The Carpenter makes new furniture such as tables, cabinets, and work benches.  
• The Carpenter constructs and installs bulletin boards, black boards, cabinets, and shelving.

Qualifications:

• OSHA Certification.
• Experience in carpentry.
