Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Wage-Earning Experience-Complete four years (8,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the occupation for which licensure is requested; OR
Bachelor's Degree - Hold a bachelor's degree AND complete two years (4,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested; OR
Associate Degree - Hold an Associate Degree in an area related to the specialization AND complete two (2) years (4,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested.
Completion of a full program of study from an approved education program in the specialization may count toward a half year of the work experience requirements.
- Meet minimum standards for certification as set forth by the West Virginia Board of Education in minimum standards for the Licensure of WV school personnel in order to obtain a WV Professional or vocational teaching certificate (7028).
Preferred:
- Prior teaching experience
- Masonry experience (four years or 8,000 clock hours)
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for teaching approved WVDE-approved architecture and construction programs
- Have an understanding of the architecture and construction industries and prepare students for career success.
- Maintain and follow all guidelines and records, including but not limited to student records, documents, purchases, and receipts, as required by the WVDE and CGCC, etc.
- Involvement in the appropriate WVDE-approved career technical student organizations (SkillsUSA)
- Build and maintain a program advisory committee and follow all WVDE guidelines
- Initiate student recruitment activities at home high schools
- Adhere to simulated workplace protocols
- Maintain program to the standards of the WVDE
- Other tasks and duties may be assigned by the Director or the immediate supervisor.
