The Carrier Performance & Compliance Manager is responsible for standardizing, auditing, and enforcing carrier compliance across multiple 3PLs and carrier networks on behalf of the shipper. This position reports to Senior Manager, Carrier Procurement.
Responsibilities:Carrier Onboarding Standard Operating Procedures
Ensure all NFI/Customer requirements are outlined to carrier.
Update and define Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for compliance processes.
Outline EDI/API/Visibility requirements and all event reason codes provided to carriers as outlined by shipper expectations.
Carrier Performance Measurement & KPI Management
Define, maintain, and govern carrier KPIs aligned to client SLAs and contracts.
Track and report performance across modes (OTP/OTD, tender acceptance, transit time variance, rate adherence, EDI & Visibility compliance).
Build and manage scorecards, dashboards, and executive-level reporting.
Identify performance trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Carrier Relationship & Governance Management
Serve as primary escalation for performance-related carrier discussions.
Lead Carrier Business Reviews and performance reviews with carriers.
Enforce performance standards while maintaining collaborative carrier relationships.
Support escalation management for chronic underperformance or service failures.
Continuous Improvement & Corrective Action
Develop corrective action plans (CAPs) with carriers to address service gaps.
Drive root cause analysis for service failures, cost overruns, and compliance issues.
Partner with carriers and internal teams to implement process improvements.
Track effectiveness of improvement initiatives and validate results.
Critical Support Requirements
Ensuring performance outcomes influence carrier strategy decisions in RFPs.
Recommend system enhancements to improve performance visibility.
Leverage analytics to drive predictive performance management.
We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $77,931.36 - 103,908.48. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 5%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
