Position Overview
The Carrier Relations Manager, Inbound Logistics will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Inbound Logistics Analyst. They will ensure that carrier partners are held accountable to service standards set in carrier contracts and SOP's and ensure the operations run efficiently. The individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring best-in-class service levels are delivered by the carrier partners to ensure the results needed to drive the business.
A Day In The Life
Utilize established KPI standards to hold carriers accountable with regular engagement, quarterly business reviews and scheduled publication of Carrier Scorecard
Develop carrier training modules as needed to support carrier understanding of KPIs and score cards to improve the retention of incumbent carriers and the onboarding of new carriers
On-board new carriers to understand the KPI's from the start of their relationship with Burlington to ensure they are compliant from the beginning of the engagement
Work with SC Analytics group to continue to develop and refine Carrier Scorecard to ensure tested and reliable data is shared with carrier partners
Daily engagement with carriers on yard health ensuring all appointments are delivered timely or rescheduled to meet the actual delivery
Daily engagement regarding empty trailer levels per yard and workflow on how to reduce to a manageable level which may require bobtail requests
Work to reduce vendor dwell issues at vendor origin loading to encourage driver utilization and reduce accessorial fees incurred.
Use carrier trend data to be an influence in the carrier selection process of annual RFP's.
Work with the Inbound Logistic analyst to develop their skills and work together be in a focus point of continuous improvement of views of KPIs and standards and carrier accountability.
Provide guidance and tasks for direct report that align with department and individual goals and objectives
Provide feedback/coaching and accountability for assigned tasks
Conduct annual reviews and provide real time feedback through the year
You''ll Come With
Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred but not required
4 plus years related supply chain management preferred but not required. Manhattan TMS experience required.
Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, coaching, facilitating and team building skills.
Experience with Manhattan Transportation Management system required.
