Overview
Amnex Solutions is seeking a Carrier Sales Representative to secure capacity across OTR and drayage freight. This role is responsible for sourcing, vetting, and managing carriers to ensure consistent, cost-effective coverage across ports, rail ramps, and nationwide lanes.
You’ll work directly with brokerage and operations teams to cover loads, build carrier relationships, and solve problems in real time.
What You’ll Be Doing
Source and secure capacity for:
OTR freight (FTL/LTL, dry van, reefer, flatbed)
Drayage (ports, rail ramps, transload facilities)
Build and manage a reliable carrier network (not just one-off bookings)
Negotiate rates with carriers to hit margin targets
Track shipments and proactively resolve issues (missed pickups, port delays, breakdowns, etc.)
Work with dispatch/ops to ensure smooth execution from pickup to delivery
Use tools like Carrier411, RMIS, and TMS (Turvo) to vet and manage carriers
Identify repeat carriers for consistent lanes and reduce spot exposure
Handle after-hours issues when needed.
Core Skills
Strong understanding of:
OTR freight markets and equipment types
Drayage operations (ports, chassis, rail, last free day, demurrage/detention)
Ability to move fast without making bad decisions
Negotiation skills
Problem-solving under pressure
Clear communication with both carriers and internal team
Experience
1–3+ years in carrier sales, dispatch, or brokerage
Experience covering both OTR and drayage is a big plus
Familiarity with port and rail operations preferred
