A community-based behavioral health organization is seeking a CASAC Counselor in New York, NY to provide substance use and recovery counseling in a multidisciplinary treatment setting. The role focuses on intakes, individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and timely documentation for adults receiving medication-assisted treatment services.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 6:15 AM to 1:45 PM
- Setting: In-person clinic
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling using trauma-informed, evidence-based, and harm reduction approaches.
- Conduct intakes, assess patient needs, and help develop treatment plans with measurable goals and interventions.
- Support adults with opioid use disorder in a medication-assisted treatment program.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, supervision, and ongoing program and clinical activities.
Qualifications:
- CASAC certification with at least 6 months of substance use disorder experience.
- Bachelor's degree, or more than 2 years of CASAC experience in lieu of the degree requirement.
- Ability to complete documentation within 48 hours.
- Experience working with adults in substance use recovery or treatment settings.
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual Spanish
