Position Description
The Veteran Services Case Aide provides administrative, client-support, and case-management assistance to Veterans, service members, and their families seeking benefits, resources, and supportive services. Working under the direction of a Case Manager Supervisor, the Case Aide assists with client intake, documentation, referrals, follow-up, records management, and coordination of community resources.
The position serves as an important point of contact for Veterans navigating complex service systems and helps ensure individuals receive timely, respectful, trauma-informed, and Veteran-centered assistance. The Case Aide supports Veterans experiencing a variety of needs, including housing instability, employment challenges, transportation barriers, justice involvement, financial hardship, behavioral health concerns, and difficulty accessing federal, state, county, and community benefits.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
One year of experience in social services, human services, healthcare, behavioral health, Veteran services, customer service, community outreach, case-management support, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate should possess:
Knowledge of challenges affecting Veterans transitioning from military to civilian life.
General understanding of Veteran programs and community-based resources.
Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to communicate effectively with Veterans from diverse military, socioeconomic, cultural, and personal backgrounds.
Ability to interact professionally with individuals experiencing stress, homelessness, behavioral health challenges, disabilities, justice involvement, or other complex circumstances.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
Ability to accurately document client interactions and services.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and recognize situations requiring supervisory intervention.
Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
Ability to establish professional relationships with governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, Veteran Service Organizations, and community partners.
Ability to work independently while functioning effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic case-management or client-information systems.
Commitment to providing Veteran-centered, trauma-informed, respectful, and strength-based services.

Preferences
Associates or bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Behavioral Sciences, or a related field.
Experience working with Veterans, military families, or Veteran Service Organizations.
Experience supporting case-management programs.
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health concerns, justice involvement, unemployment, or other barriers to stability.
Knowledge of U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs programs and benefits.
Experience with electronic case-management databases or client-management systems.
Military service or demonstrated knowledge of military culture is beneficia.

Position Type:
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
