    Job Description

    2nd Shift Case & Label & Warehouse Supervisor

    This hands-on leadership role oversees second-shift labeling and warehouse operations, taking products from brite inventory through finished, labeled goods while keeping people, materials, equipment, inventory, safety, and quality aligned.

    The best fit is a steady floor leader from food, beverage, packaging, consumer products, or another high-volume manufacturing environment who can lead a team, protect line efficiency, coordinate schedules and materials, and make sound operating decisions during a demanding evening shift.

    Location: Geneva, NY

    Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 p.m.-4:00 a.m.; some weekend work during the busy season

    Work Setting: Onsite

    Role Type: Direct hire

    Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 per year, based on skills, abilities, and experience- Potential flexibility for senior level relevant experience

    Bonus: 5% annual bonus

    Responsibilities

    • Lead day-to-day second-shift labeling and warehouse operations, moving brite inventory through labeling and into finished goods.
    • Drive label-line performance by monitoring efficiency, downtime, line changes, staffing, material availability, and daily production priorities.
    • Order and control direct materials, maintain appropriate inventory levels, and schedule label lines to meet production and shipping deadlines.
    • Coordinate personnel schedules, work assignments, training, and shift coverage for the labeling team.
    • Oversee maintenance needs in the labeling area and work with maintenance partners to minimize disruption and restore equipment safely.
    • Reconcile inventory between GEM and INCS and investigate or escalate discrepancies that could affect production or finished-goods accuracy.
    • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality procedures, and established operating standards.
    • Partner with Quality to communicate product concerns, isolate issues, and support timely resolution.
    • Prepare end-of-month downtime and line-change records, monthly production reporting, and physical-inventory documentation.
    • Support CHEP pallet activity and provide backup coverage for label-coordination responsibilities.
    • Participate in safety, quality, and can-damage committees and help convert findings into practical floor improvements.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support plant and warehouse performance.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead employees and organize work in a production, packaging, warehouse, distribution, or related operating environment.
    • Knowledge of labeling operations or the ability to learn labeling requirements quickly.
    • Basic computer and data-entry skills, with the ability to learn GEM-INCS and OSTAT.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills across operations, maintenance, quality, and warehouse teams.
    • Strong organization, flexibility, follow-through, and the ability to make accurate, calculated decisions during the shift.
    • Ability to work the full second-shift schedule and support occasional weekend work during peak season.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Five or more years of experience as a leadperson, team lead, or supervisor in a related field.
    • Post-high-school education or relevant operations, manufacturing, supply-chain, or leadership training.
    • Food or beverage manufacturing experience involving labeling, packaging, finished goods, inventory control, warehouse operations, GMPs, or quality systems.
    • Experience tracking line efficiency, downtime, production reporting, materials, pallets, or inventory reconciliation through an ERP or warehouse system.

    Additional Responsibilities

    Leadership & Employee Development

    • Train, coach, and develop labeling personnel to improve performance and job proficiency.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide regular feedback to employees.
    • Address attendance, performance, and disciplinary issues in accordance with company policies.
    • Foster a positive work environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce downtime, waste, and labor inefficiencies.
    • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for recurring production issues.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean Manufacturing practices.

    Production & Performance Management

    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including efficiency, downtime, labor utilization, quality defects, and material usage.
    • Communicate daily production goals and performance results to employees and management.
    • Ensure staffing levels are aligned with production requirements.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, and Planning departments to meet operational objectives.
    • Lead or participate in shift handoff meetings and communicate operational priorities.

     

    Additional Qualifications

    Leadership Experience

    • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold employees accountable in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience managing teams of 10+ employees preferred.

    Problem Solving

    • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
    • Proven ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.

    Manufacturing Knowledge

    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, inventory control, and equipment operation.
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies preferred.

    Computer & Data Analysis

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and production reporting systems.
    • Ability to analyze production data and identify trends requiring corrective action.

    Communication

    • Ability to communicate effectively with hourly employees, management, maintenance, and quality personnel.
    • Strong conflict resolution and employee relations skills.
