As a Case Manager, you will work within our Youth Partial Care located in Lumberton, Burlington County NJ. First Step is a specialized, partial care pre-school program in Burlington County for children ages 3-5 experiencing emotional and behavioral disturbances.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
Competencies:
Demonstrates respect for children/adolescents and their families; Demonstrate understanding of emotional disturbance; Demonstrates knowledge about the differential characteristics of serious emotional disturbance; Demonstrates knowledge about the role of psych. Medication in treating disorder; Demonstrates understanding of the effects of stressful life events including abuse and/or trauma; Involves youth and family in all aspects of treatment planning; Demonstrates ability to teach both simple and complex skills; Demonstrates knowledge of a range of strategies applicable to population; Ability to identify family support resources and provide advocacy for their use; Demonstrates understanding of the principles of collaborative community-based care; Communicates understanding of unique issues families face; Ability to provide support while setting clear limits
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing individual and group counseling and support
- Provide activities to address daily living skills
- Provide recreational and socialization activities
- Participate in the development, review and updating of individual treatment plans and comprehensive assessments
- Participate in the development of discharge plans and making needed referrals
- Assist youth directly in addressing self-care needs
- Participate in case conferences
- Provide support to auxiliary staff, student interns and volunteers
- Maintain clinical documentation
- Perform related duties as needed and appropriate to the provision of partial care services

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA, BS, BSW) in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited college/university
- One year experience with youth in a mental health capacity.
