Job Description:

Case Sealer Helper

Stockton, CA

 

Compensation Includes

  • Starting pay rate of $24.67/hour - paid weekly

Shifts Available:

  • 2nd: 3:00pm - 11:30pm
  • 3rd: 11:00pm - 7:30pm
  • Monday - Friday, Saturdays as needed

Overview

Piles cases from conveyor to pallets sorting by product description. Occasionally drives forklift to move full pallets into finished goods warehouse. Performs miscellaneous sanitation duties.

 

Responsibilities

  • Piles cases of finished product onto the proper pallets. Records all pallets on daily production reports for inventory use. Prepares paperwork for incoming coworker.
  • Operates forklift to move full pallet to shrink wrap machine and to place wrapped pallets into finished goods storage.
  • Operates shrink wrap machine.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly sanitation functions to ensure plant compliance with ASI standards
  • Completes LOTO as required by procedures.
  • Performs other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervision

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment helpful but not necessary          
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform simple calculations (additions, subtraction, multiplication, and division) to determine daily production figures and to ensure number of pallets put into inventory correspond to production figures. Calculations may include 7 digit numbers. Accuracy required to avoid inventory adjustments and corrections.
  • MECHANICAL SKILLS: Requires sufficient knowledge of applicable machines to operate, troubleshoot and conduct minor repairs. Will be required to clear jams, change tape. May be required to perform or assist with preventive maintenance.
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Able to read, write and speak English in order to receive instruction and communicate problems. Courtesy and tact in communications required to respond to multiple requests for services.

  • REASONING ABILITIY: Must be able to understand machine specific operating instructions and processes. This is necessary to ensure quality standards are met and the employee’s own personal safety is maintained (as well as the safety of co-workers)

  • Employee is required to stand while performing the essential duties of this job.
  • Pile down handfuls of blanks weighing between 10 and 20 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Requires hand and finger dexterity to keep pace with the speed of the press as it produces blanks
  • Repetitive movement of hands, fingers, arms and shoulders
  • Repetitive twisting
  • Frequent bending to stack blanks on a pallet
  • Lift and handle press equipment dies weighing up to 100 pounds with the assistance of other members of the press crew on an occasional basis
  • Lift and carry 5-gallon ink pails weighing up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Assist in lifting cylinders weighing up to 150 pounds using mechanical hoists on an occasional basis
  • Assist in lifting press rollers and stripper shells weighing up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis with help from the press crew

  • Normal indoor conditions with the exception of summer months when heat become a factor
  • Hearing protection required as machinery noise is commonly in the 80-95 dBA range
  • Daily exposure to nuisance paper dust, ink, hydraulic fluid, machine oil, grease and occasional fumes and vapors such as ammonia, alcohol, combustion gases
  • Safety shoes and safety glasses, hair nets & beard nets are required in manufacturing areas
