The Case Staffing Manager is responsible for the allocation and staffing of legal matters within Jackson Lewis. This position will initially support the broader case staffing efforts for the firm as a floater and potentially be aligned to specific offices as practices expand. The role oversees the assignment of attorneys to matters based on skills, experience, and availability, and develops an understanding of attorney caseloads, strengths, areas of expertise, capacity, and billable hours trends. The manager will understand all aspects of each matter, including complexity of litigation when assigning matters.ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of matter staffing, understanding each case's unique needs as well as a deep understanding of individual attorney knowledge, skills, and abilities.Use firm resources and technology.Ensure attorneys' caseloads stay on track to meet billable requirements.Handle transitions of matters during attorney departures, leaves of absence, and integration of new hires.Maintain a client-focused approach to strengthen relationships and nurture client relationships within local offices.Skills and Educational RequirementsBachelor's degree required; JD preferred.Minimum of 3 years' experience in a litigation law firm; employment law preferred.Proven work in fast‑paced, high-volume work environment.Key SkillsAttention to detail and multitasking in a fast‑paced setting.Advanced organizational and time‑management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication.Proven ability to interface effectively with employees at all levels within the firm.Proficiency in technology use and assessment.Success in collaborative team environments.CompensationFor the Chicago and Seattle metro areas, the expected salary range is $125,000 to $160,000, with eligibility for annual bonuses. Compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
