Cash Management Operations Specialist

Location: Fort Mill, South Carolina (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 Remote)

Role Overview

This role supports a department responsible for the movement of cash and assets, including various processes within Cash Management such as Journals, Receipts, Deposits, and Disbursements for both retirement and non-retirement products. The position involves operational processing and may require contact with internal and external clients. The specialist will conduct due diligence on transactions for potential AML and fraudulent activity, handle wire-related inquiries, and act as a subject matter expert for business partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process transactions that are Not in Good Order, handle journal requests, correct errors, and manage disbursement work queues.
  • Manage Divorce and Death Claim processing, along with some tax operations tasks.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews on first and third-party wire transactions for potential AML and fraudulent activity.
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls from advisors and clients regarding domestic and international wire inquiries.
  • Verify third-party wire information directly with clients and assist with duties associated with a Cash Control team.
  • Review reports to reconcile general ledgers, end-of-day balances for wires and checks, and rejection reports for ACH transaction updates.
  • Stay current on new processes and controls, and participate in daily huddles and department meetings.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Business, Accounting, or Finance.

Experience: 2-3 years of experience in the brokerage or financial services industry is required.

Skills:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work independently as well as in a team.
  • Capacity to problem-solve, articulate requirements, and escalate when necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to execute given tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), BETA (Mainframe), Documentum, Siebel, and SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FINRA Series 7/66 licenses are preferred.
