Summary:

Analyzes remittance advice to ensure accurate posting of rejections, payments, and contractual adjustments to patient accounts, both manually and electronically. Reconciles all daily receipts to bank deposits. Posting all insurance and all patient cash for Epic, HB and PB.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal Education Required:

a. High school diploma or equivalent

2. Experience & Training Required:

a. Two (2) years' experience in patient accounting, preferably in cash reconciliation

b. Working knowledge of hospital patient accounting procedures, computers, calculators, and other equipment used in the Patient Financial Services area. Diverse knowledge and experience in utilizing standardized PC software

3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

a. Working knowledge of computer functions; uploading files, internet searches

b. Ability to pass Word and Excel tests administered by Human Resources

c. Ability to make good decisions and think independently.

d. Ability to establish productive working relationships with those contacted in the course or work.

e. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with those contacted in the course of work.

f. Possess good analytical skills necessary for problem solving and account resolution.

g. Ability to trend.

h. Ability work well independently and in a team setting.

i. Ability to multi-task

j. Ability to exercises logic and reasoning to assess and resolve problems.

k. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity

4. Level of Physical Demands:

a. Sedentary: Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.

b. Ability to sit for periods of time.

c. Constant use of keyboard and mouse.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
