From weddings and holiday parties to corporate retreats and social gatherings, our catering team delivers unforgettable events with creative menus, seamless service, and elevated design expertise.We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-oriented individuals to join our Food and Beverage team as Cashier/Barista at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. In this role, you will provide excellent customer service, assist guests with their orders, and help create a positive dining experience. In this role, you will help transport food from the kitchen to various areas around the venue and concession stands while adhering to food safety standards. Additionally, the individual in this role will also be responsible for making gourmet customized coffee beverages and ensuring quality is always the same.This position will be stationed out of Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens located in Dallas, TX.Duties may include but are not limited to:Ability to work with new team members week-to-week to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environmentGreet and service guests at the register, taking orders, and accepting payment (debit card, credit card)Ability to perform multiple roles of a concession stand such as cashier, runner, plating food, cleaning, counting inventory, restocking, customer service and barista functionsAbility to operate an espresso machine to create customized coffee beverages and ensure that quality is always consistentPrepare food while following standard health and safety proceduresTransport and deliver food from the kitchen to concession stands and other areas around the venueAssist servers and staff by running food to guests as needed during eventsWilling to receive formal or on-the-job training and coaching to improveCheck identification for age-restricted items, such as alcoholic beveragesReplenish food at serving stations as neededScrub and polish counters, tables, and other equipmentClean dishes and fountain equipmentAssess inventory and assist in preparing product orders as necessaryStock and restock items as necessaryEnsure all sanitation procedures are followed relating to all local licensing regulationsEducation and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent preferred.Customer service or food service experience preferred.Must enjoy interacting with students in a friendly and helpful manner.Must be comfortable commuting to Dallas, TX.Specialized Qualifications:Excellent listening and communication skills.Positive attitude and team-player mindset.Ability to work standing for extended periods.Punctuality and reliability are a must.Work EnvironmentConcessions Cashiers will work out of and report to our team at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. This position works often with food equipment, will be in and out of coolers and freezers, and traversing different types of flooring.Uniform RequirementsAdherence to Company Uniform Requirements outlined in the Associate Handbook, uniform requirements outlined in your orientation guidelines.Non-slip shoes are necessary.Physical Demands:Prolonged periods of standing, moving through a limited space, and walking on various surfacesBending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food itemsAbility to perform physical tasks; such as but not limited to, lifting approx. 30 lbs.CORE VALUE AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTSBusiness Acumen - Demonstrate comprehension of the job, including policies, practices, and relationships.
