What You’ll Do
As a Cashier, you’ll help create a welcoming and efficient shopping experience for every customer.
You’ll assist with transactions, answer customer questions, maintain a clean checkout area, and help ensure every customer leaves satisfied.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service- Greet customers entering and leaving the store with a friendly attitude
- Provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone
- Help customers with questions and direct them to products or departments
Checkout & Transactions- Process transactions accurately using cash, credit/debit cards, and charge accounts
- Issue receipts, refunds, and charge tickets
- Accurately count and return change
- Verify checks and monitor for counterfeit cash
Store Support- Maintain clean and organized checkout and front-end areas
- Support store appearance and operational efficiency
- Report security or loss prevention concerns to management
Sales Support- Ask open-ended questions to better understand customer needs
- Promote a positive shopping experience that supports customer satisfaction
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for dependable, positive individuals who enjoy helping customers and working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Required Qualifications- Experience as a retail cashier or similar customer service role
- Basic PC and POS system knowledge
- Good math and cash-handling skills
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Customer satisfaction-focused mindset
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Paladin POS systems
- Basic knowledge of yard products or hardscape materials
Physical Requirements- Standing for most of the shift
- Some lifting required
