Join Brown Motors as a Cashier / Phone Receptionist in Petoskey, Michigan. This customer-facing role is an important part of our daily dealership operations and often serves as one of the first and last points of contact for our customers.
We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented individual who can provide a welcoming experience in person and over the phone. Responsibilities include answering incoming calls, directing customers to the appropriate department, greeting guests, processing customer payments, providing receipts, balancing cashier transactions, and assisting with basic administrative support.
The right candidate will be professional, organized, comfortable handling money, and able to communicate clearly with customers and team members across our sales, service, and parts departments. Responsibilities
Answer and direct incoming phone calls with professionalism, courtesy, and accuracy.
Greet customers and visitors warmly, creating a welcoming and professional first impression.
Process customer payments accurately for service, parts, and other dealership transactions.
Provide receipts and assist customers with basic payment-related questions.
Balance cashier transactions and follow daily closeout procedures.
Communicate with service, parts, sales, and office team members to keep customer transactions moving smoothly.
Maintain accurate records in company systems and support basic data entry needs.
Keep the front desk and cashier area organized, clean, and customer-ready.
Assist with appointment scheduling, message taking, and administrative support as needed.
Support the overall efficiency of the dealership by helping customers quickly, professionally, and with a positive attitude.
Experience: Previous experience in a receptionist, cashier, customer service, or administrative role is preferred.
Cash Handling: Ability to process payments accurately, provide receipts, and balance transactions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
