To promptly, courteously, and accurately perform cashiering duties at aquatic facilities.
Environmental Factors
Works within a crowded, hectic swimming pool environment.
Physical Factors
Position is highly sedentary within an aquatic office setting with 80-90% of the day at a desk. 50% of the day involves hand coordination required for operating a cash register, calculator, writing, stamping and stapling. A high degree of customer contact requires strong verbal abilities and the ability to read at a high school level.
Work Situation Factors
Extended hours and constant interruptions. MUST BE AT LEAST AGE 18. Regular attendance is an Position is subject to drug testing in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations and City of Las Cruces policies.

This posting will be used to fill a full-time, regular, non-exempt position, but may be used to fill multiple vacancies to include positions that are regular, or contract and may be full-time, part-time, or temporary in other sections of the Parks & Recreation Department.
This position is graded RN03.
Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent to a high school diploma plus six (6) months experience in cashiering. A combination of education, experience, and training may be applied in accordance with City of Las Cruces policy. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred.
Licenses/Certification(s)
No specific license required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of: Some knowledge of exceptional customer service principles and methods; principles of cash handling; record keeping; techniques for dealing with the public; and City policies and procedures.
Ability to: Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those encountered in the course of the work; deal effectively with the public. Work under pressure with constant interruptions. Be self-motivated and to adhere to all City policies and procedures.
Skills in: Operating calculator or cash register; making mathematical calculations; maintaining accurate records. Have strong English language abilities and legible handwriting.
