Cashier / Stock Associate

Position Summary

As a Cashier/Stock Associate, you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service while maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked store. The ideal candidate is reliable, honest, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Greet every customer with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout each shift.
• Answer customer questions and resolve concerns courteously.
• Verify ID for age-restricted purchases.

Cashier Duties

• Operate the cash register accurately.
• Process cash, credit/debit, mobile payments, EBT, lottery, and other transactions as applicable.
• Count and balance the cash drawer.
• Follow all cash-handling and security procedures.

Stocking & Merchandising

• Restock shelves, coolers, and displays throughout the shift.
• Rotate inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO).
• Check expiration dates and remove outdated products.
• Assist with receiving and putting away deliveries.
• Maintain attractive merchandise displays.

Store Cleanliness

• Keep the sales floor clean and organized.
• Clean counters, beverage stations, coffee area, and restrooms.
• Empty trash as needed.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Help maintain the parking lot and fuel island areas.

Food & Beverage

• Prepare fresh coffee and beverage stations.
• Restock hot food and grab-and-go items.
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures.

Safety

• Follow Chevron safety policies.
• Report maintenance or equipment issues promptly.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Follow store security procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cashier or retail experience is a plus but not required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
