Job Summary
The Cashier is responsible for accurately processing, recordings and depositing all cash receipts including student and non-student account receivable payments. This role also manages disbursement of cash reimbursements, cash advances, student emergency loans, and miscellaneous cash disbursements.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Performs complex cashiering functions for student accounts following specific college procedures and policies. Accepts payments, posts charges, cashes checks and issues refunds.
Job Duty 2 -
Must be familiar with Institute billing and refund policies, institutional and Family Education Rights and Privacy Acts (FERPA) confidentiality regulations.
Job Duty 3 -
Prepares daily deposits of receivable including balancing and posting receipts. Records and closes out credit card and Buzz card machines.
Job Duty 4 -
Provides technical assistance to customers, over the phone and in person, regarding business office, registration, financial aid and accounts receivable policies and procedures; operational hours; general college policies.
Job Duty 5 -
Posts miscellaneous department revenue to financial system.
Job Duty 6 -
Processes a variety of employee transactions including: check cashing, issuing parking permits and provides a variety of forms.
Job Duty 7 -
Reconciles funds at the end of each day and posts.
Job Duty 8 -
Provide accurate accounting of all payments and deposits.
Job Duty 9 -
Maintains daily activity logs.
Job Duty 10-
Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma/GED or Vocational School Diploma

Certifications or licenses preferred: SERVSafe
Preferred Experience
Three or more years of job-related experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Ability to work fast and under pressure; Must be able to lift 50lbs and can stand for more than 90% of the work shift
KNOWLEDGE
Working knowledge of retail/dining operations
SKILLS
Must be familiar with Point-of-Sale systems or willing to learn and have strong communication and problem-solving skills
