About the Opportunity
Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring Cast Operators for a leading metal manufacturing / die casting company in Watertown, SD. In this role, you’ll support furnace operations and molten metal processing to ensure materials meet quality and production specifications. If you enjoy hands-on industrial work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and want steady hours with weekly pay, this could be a great fit. Read below for more information!
What You'll Do as the Cast Operator:
  • Operate die casting machines (manual or automated) in accordance with established processes and work instructions
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed to ensure proper function and product quality
  • Measure and visually inspect parts to verify conformance to specifications using precision tools
  • Set up and tend casting machines, including installing dies and applying coatings as required
  • Position inserts, remove cast parts, trim excess material, and complete de-flashing processes
  • Handle hot materials safely, including removing parts from machines and placing them in appropriate containers
  • Accurately record production data, process readings, and work time
  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies while maintaining a clean and safe work area
What You Need to Bring to the Cast Operator Role:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed written work instructions and procedures
  • Basic math and measurement skills, including use of precision measuring instruments
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate manufacturing equipment safely and effectively
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Basic communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including heat, noise, and repetitive motion
  • Reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently while maintaining productivity
