Job SummaryWe're looking for a Casting Chemical Process Operator to operate Equiax (EQX), Directionally Solidified (DS), and Single Crystal (SX) vacuum furnaces used to manufacture high-quality aerospace investment castings. This role supports critical casting operations by preparing equipment, monitoring processes, troubleshooting production issues, and ensuring products meet engineering specifications, customer requirements, and quality standards.

Shift: 2nd shift, Monday-Friday 2:00p-10:00pShift Differential:$2.00/hr
What You'll Be Doing
Operate EQX, DS, and SX vacuum casting furnaces to produce aerospace investment castings.Load alloys, molds, liners, and production materials in accordance with engineering and customer requirements.Perform furnace startup procedures, equipment checks, and pre-flight inspections.Verify correct alloy and master heat selection for each work order.Monitor casting cycles, review process trends, and make process adjustments as required.Program withdrawal speeds and support casting operations in accordance with approved procedures.Operate related foundry equipment, including alloy preparation, preheat ovens, and vacuum furnace systems.Complete required production documentation, including melt logs, furnace checklists, and Mercury records.Identify molds or processes that do not meet engineering specifications and report issues promptly.Support troubleshooting, training, process improvement, and scrap reduction initiatives.Follow 6S, safety, and housekeeping standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
What We're Looking For
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding technical procedures and work instructions.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, procedures, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Basic math skills, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and decimal calculations.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Computer proficiency and ability to complete electronic production records.Ability to operate or be trained to operate a forklift.Strong organizational skills and understanding of 5S/6S principles.Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.
Nice to Have
Foundry, casting, vacuum furnace, heat treat, or metallurgical processing experience.Experience with EQX, DS, or SX casting operations.Aerospace manufacturing experience.Technical school, engineering coursework, or college education.Experience with process improvement, root cause analysis, or Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Manufacturing environment with exposure to foundry equipment, moving machinery, noise, vibration, fumes, and elevated temperatures.Frequent standing, reaching, handling materials, and use of production equipment throughout the shift.Ability to lift up to 10 lbs regularly, up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.Close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment required.Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
