We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in casualty and mass tort litigation matters. This role involves managing high-volume, complex cases involving multiple plaintiffs, defendants, and large datasets. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in large-scale litigation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in all phases of casualty and mass tort litigation, from case intake through trial and settlement
- Coordinate and manage large volumes of case files, including document organization and database management
- Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence
- Assist with discovery, including document collection, review, production, and tracking
- Manage plaintiff fact sheets, client intake forms, and medical records for multiple claimants
- Summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, and expert reports
- Maintain case calendars and ensure compliance with court deadlines and case management orders
- Assist with preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials, including exhibit preparation and trial binders
- Coordinate with clients, co-counsel, experts, and vendors (e.g., medical record retrieval services)
- Utilize e-discovery platforms and case management systems to track and analyze large volumes of data
- Assist with settlement processes, including lien resolution and distribution documentation
- Perform electronic filing in state and federal courts
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; Paralegal certificate preferred
- 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, with exposure to casualty or mass tort cases
- Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and discovery processes
- Experience managing high-volume caseloads and complex litigation matters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software (e.g., Relativity, CaseMap, TrialDirector, or similar tools)
- Familiarity with e-filing systems in state and federal courts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience handling multidistrict litigation (MDL) or class actions
- Familiarity with personal injury, product liability, or pharmaceutical litigation
- Experience with medical records review and terminology
- Knowledge of e-discovery processes, including document review workflows and productions
- Trial experience assisting attorneys in courtroom settings
