Job Title: Cat Scan Tech

Department: Imaging Services Location: Canton-Potsdam Hospital Schedule: Per Diem (10:30 am - 11 pm primarily)

SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic CT exams, screening CT exams, and interventional CT procedures in accordance with approved techniques and standards as established by Radiologists, governing, and accrediting bodies. Completes the necessary documentation for each exam to ensure the radiologist can provide quality diagnostic interpretation and CPH can bill accordingly. Communicates with radiologists and department Leadership on a routine basis to ensure a high level of care and service for patients and to meet provider needs. Operates CT scanner, general diagnostic radiographic equipment, and ancillary support systems to perform CT and diagnostic radiographic procedures per provider orders. This is in accordance with approved techniques, policies, and regulatory standards as established by regulatory agencies, and standards and policies set forth by the organization. Adheres to the professional standards of the NYS Department of Health, the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist and the Mammography Quality Standards Act.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate CT Workflow & Communication: Oversee daily scheduling and execution of CT studies, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration among technologists, radiologists, providers, and patients. • Advanced Imaging & Radiation Safety: Perform CT and general radiographic procedures-applying anatomy, positioning, collimation, shielding, and exposure techniques to achieve diagnostic quality while minimizing radiation dose. • Protocol Management & Compliance: Under radiologist direction, implement and disseminate new or revised imaging protocols; adhere to patient identification, education, consent, order verification, infection control, and pregnancy-status verification standards. • Quality Assurance & Equipment Oversight: Execute designated QA/QC processes for CT equipment and image quality, maintain documentation, and monitor radiation dose reporting and control in accordance with departmental and regulatory requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program • New York State Department of Health Licensure • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) within 3 months of hire • BLS within 3 months of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced modality specialty training • ARRT (CT) certification • 1 year of CT experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $35.16 - $52.16

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
