    Job Title: Cat Scan Technologist – Night Shift
    Location:
    Omaha, Nebraska
    Pay: $26.65–$42.65 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
    Schedule: Night Shift | 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
    Hours: 24 or 36 hours per week available
    Employment Type: Permanent, Direct-Hire Position
    Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
    Tuition Assistance: Up to $10,000
    Benefits: Some 24-hour-per-week positions may qualify for full-time benefits

    Position Summary

    A hospital-based imaging department in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a Cat Scan Technologist for a permanent night-shift opportunity. The technologist will perform diagnostic CT examinations, establish and manage IV access for contrast administration, and provide safe, high-quality imaging services to patients ranging from infants through geriatric populations.

    Experienced CT Technologists are encouraged to apply, but candidates who are CT board-eligible or need additional clinical training to become board-eligible may also be considered. This makes the position a strong opportunity for Radiologic Technologists looking to advance their careers in CT.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform diagnostic Cat Scan/CT examinations according to established imaging protocols.
    • Prepare and appropriately position patients for CT procedures.
    • Perform venipuncture and establish IV access for contrast-enhanced examinations.
    • Manage IV access and power injectors used for contrast administration.
    • Verify patient identity, examination orders, and relevant clinical information before procedures.
    • Explain procedures to patients and address questions or concerns.
    • Provide appropriate imaging care to infants, pediatric patients, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
    • Produce high-quality diagnostic images while following established radiation-safety standards.
    • Monitor patients before, during, and following contrast administration.
    • Follow Universal Precautions, infection-control procedures, and radiation-safety practices.
    • Prioritize multiple examinations and organize workflow effectively during the shift.
    • Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation.
    • Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, imaging staff, and other members of the healthcare team.
    • Participate in cross-training opportunities within other imaging modalities when appropriate.
    • Assist with overtime, irregular hours, or on-call coverage based on departmental needs.

    Requirements

    • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
    • Current ARRT certification in Radiography — ARRT(R).
    • Current Medical Radiographer license for the applicable work state.
    • Ability to perform venipuncture and manage IV access for contrast administration.
    • Ability to safely work with patients across all age groups.
    • Strong interpersonal and patient-care skills.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage a changing clinical workload.
    • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
    • Flexibility to accommodate overtime, irregular hours, and on-call responsibilities when required.

    CT Certification

    Current ARRT certification in Computed Tomography — ARRT(CT) is preferred; however, candidates who are not yet CT certified may still be considered.

    Eligible candidates may include:

    • Radiologic Technologists who have completed CT clinical training and are eligible to sit for the CT registry.
    • Candidates who have successfully completed an approved CT externship.
    • Radiologic Technologists who require additional clinical training before becoming CT board-eligible.

    Candidates hired without current ARRT(CT) certification must successfully obtain the advanced CT certification within 12 months of hire or completion of the required clinical training.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • One to two years of experience as a Cat Scan/CT Technologist.
    • Current ARRT(CT) certification.
    • Successful completion of an approved CT externship.
    • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
    • Previous hospital-based imaging experience.
    • Experience performing contrast-enhanced CT examinations.
    • Interest in cross-training within additional imaging modalities.

    Additional Requirements

    BLS: American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is strongly preferred at the time of hire and must be obtained within three months of employment.

    The ideal candidate will be organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a busy hospital environment while maintaining excellent patient care and diagnostic image quality.
