A leading industrial manufacturer is seeking a Category Manager to develop and execute sourcing strategies for MRO spend categories. This newly created role offers the opportunity to drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, optimize inventory, and influence procurement strategy within a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage category strategies for MRO (tooling, supplies, consumables, etc.) and other indirect spend.
Lead RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations, and contract implementation.
Identify cost reduction and inventory optimization opportunities through spend analysis.
Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and finance to support plant objectives.
Manage supplier relationships and implement sourcing best practices.
Present business cases that demonstrate measurable savings and process improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Proven category management experience is required.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
Advanced Excel skills; SAP experience preferred.
Freight experience is a plus.
Collaborative, team oriented approach with excellent communication skills.
