They develop and execute category strategies to reduce total cost of ownership, lead sourcing initiatives, qualify new suppliers, and analyze costs to inform decisions.
In operational buying, they manage day-to-day purchasing, supplier performance, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery. They build supplier relationships, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and production teams.
The role involves driving process improvements, ensuring compliance, and supporting new product introductions. Candidates need 5+ years of procurement experience, technical commodity knowledge, ERP proficiency, and strong negotiation skills. Preferred attributes include familiarity with engineering drawings, global sourcing, and sustainable practices.
