Role Overview:

Sodexo is seeking an energetic, organized, and hospitality-driven Catering Manager 3 to lead catering operations at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering services, from client engagement and event planning to execution and financial performance.

 

The ideal candidate is a proven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, delivers exceptional customer service, and has a passion for creating memorable experiences for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and campus guests.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and manage daily catering operations for a variety of campus events, including executive meetings, student functions, athletic events, conferences, and special occasions;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for catering clients, ensuring a seamless planning and execution process;
  • Coordinate event logistics, staffing, menu selections, setup, service, and post-event follow-up;
  • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, hospitality, and customer satisfaction;
  • Manage catering budgets, labor costs, inventory, and operational expenses to achieve financial goals;
  • Collaborate with culinary, retail, and marketing teams to promote catering services and identify revenue growth opportunities.

What You Bring:
  • Hospitality, banquet, event management, or food service leadership experience;
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple events simultaneously in a high-volume environment;
  • Strong client relations, communication, and organizational skills;
  • Experience with event planning, catering sales, and customer relationship management;
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and catering/event management systems.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
