Sodexo’s Campus Segment is seeking a dynamic and experienced Catering Manager4 to lead all catering, banquet, and event operations at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut. The Catering Manager 4 will serve as the Catering Director for the account, leading all campus catering, banquet, and event operations. This includes oversight of large-scale banquet facilities, small meeting spaces, and delivery/pick-up meal services. You will guide a dedicated team, ensure flawless event execution, and uphold Sodexo’s standards of excellence across all service touchpoints. 

 

In this high-visibility role, you’ll oversee the strategic planning, seamless execution, and overall success of a wide range of campus events—from small student gatherings to high-profile executive functions. This position requires a collaborative, hands-on leader with strong operational acumen and a passion for exceptional hospitality.

What You'll Do

  • Direct all catering and event functions across campus.
  • Collaborate closely with the Catering Manager and Executive Chef to ensure seamless planning and execution.
  • Oversee staff performance, service execution, and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with campus WOI partners to ensure expectations are consistently met.
  • Coordinate logistics for a wide range of events, from informal student gatherings to executive-level functions.
  • Ensure high standards in food quality, presentation, and customer service.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships to support operational success.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service offerings and elevate the catering experience.

  • Extensive Industry Experience: in catering, food service, or hospitality management with a strong background in high-volume or complex event operations.
  • Leadership Excellence: A proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire diverse teams while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and hospitality.
  • Operational Strength: Expertise in event planning, service logistics, and day-to-day catering operations, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 3 years   

Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in catering, food production, or food service management or a related field
