Position Summary
Tempo by Hilton Nashville Downtown is seeking a passionate, driven, and relationship-focused Catering Sales Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for generating and managing catering business, maximizing banquet and event revenue, and creating exceptional experiences for our guests from inquiry through event execution.
Working closely with the Sales, Food & Beverage, and Operations teams, the Catering Sales Manager will build lasting client relationships while ensuring flawless execution of meetings, social events, corporate functions, and special occasions.
Essential Responsibilities
- Generate catering revenue through proactive sales efforts, networking, referrals, and relationship building.
- Respond to inquiries, qualify leads, conduct site tours, and prepare proposals and contracts.
- Manage events from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up, ensuring a seamless client experience.
- Coordinate with Food & Beverage, Culinary, Operations, and Banquet teams to ensure successful event execution.
- Develop Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicate event details to operational departments.
- Maintain strong relationships with local businesses, organizations, event planners, and community partners.
- Participate in networking events, trade shows, and community organizations to generate new business.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual catering revenue goals.
- Negotiate contracts while maximizing profitability and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records, forecasts, and sales activity within Delphi, CI/TY, or other CRM systems.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing on sales strategies, promotions, and business development initiatives.
- Deliver exceptional customer service before, during, and after every event.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hotel catering, event sales, or hospitality sales experience preferred.
- Experience selling meetings, weddings, social events, and corporate functions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; Delphi, CI/TY, or similar sales software experience preferred.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as business demands require.
