Catering Operations Manager Sarasota Catering Company, Sarasota, FL 34231, in person Full time, hourly Pay: $20 to $25 per hour, based on experience Reports to: Owner Start date: ASAP About the role Sarasota Catering Company is a full service catering company in Sarasota. We cater weddings, private parties and corporate events across Sarasota and Bradenton. We are hiring a Catering Operations Manager to keep everything behind the scenes running smoothly. This is a very hands on job. You will be on your feet at events, in the shop keeping equipment and vehicles working, and in the office keeping schedules, inventory and logistics organized. You should be comfortable with tools, equipment, vehicles and trailers, basic repairs, event setups and solving problems yourself. What you will do - Plan and manage the logistics for several events at the same time, including staff assignments, timelines, equipment and deliveries - Lead and support event staff on site through set up, service and breakdown - Keep inventory accurate for equipment, supplies and small wares, and coordinate ordering and restocking - Maintain vehicles, trailers and catering equipment, including basic repairs and preventive maintenance - Help control costs by tracking usage, reducing waste and keeping purchase records - Work with the kitchen and sales teams so each event is ready before the truck leaves - Solve problems during events calmly and quickly, and handle repairs and fixes yourself where you can - Keep the warehouse, storage and load areas clean, safe and organized What we are looking for - Experience in hospitality, catering, events, restaurant or a related operations role - Extremely organized and reliable - Practical and hands on, comfortable with tools and basic equipment repair - Able to manage several events and moving parts at once without losing track - Comfortable leading and coaching a team on event days - Valid driver's license and a safe driving record - Able to work evenings, weekends and event days as the schedule requires - Able to lift and carry catering equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds, and stand and walk for long periods at events - Legally authorized to work in the United States Nice to have - Catering or banquet operations experience - Experience towing and backing a trailer - Food safety certification - Experience with scheduling or inventory software Schedule Full time, flexible schedule. Evening, weekend and event day work is expected, because that is when our events happen. Compensation $20 to $25 per hour, based on experience. This position reports directly to the owner.
