Job Summary and Qualifications

​Responsible for patient food service on assigned units, menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery, and pick up, special requests and needs, and in-between meal food delivery. Exhibits a friendly, caring attitude to patients while introducing the Catering to You program while taking menu selections, delivering trays, and inquiring during catering rounds and retrieving trays.​  

1.Utilizes appropriate portion control.  

2. Write and prepare snack nourishment for patient residents.  

3. Communicate to the Dietitian special needs or request of patients, residents and staff.  

4. Ensures that the correct diet is prepared for the patient by physician’s orders.  

5. Speak menu to all patients except those receiving a clear liquid, full liquid or pureed diet.  

6. Communicate patient needs to appropriate staff while maintaining patient confidentiality.  

7. Keeps clean work area and equipment.  

8. Knowledge of safety and sanitation rules and regulations.  

9. Cart is maintained in a neat and orderly manner, free of excessive supply items. C art is restocked at the end of the assigned shift. Janitor closet is maintained in a neat and orderly manner, free of excessive supply items.  

10. Assists in dish room with dishwashing and storage of clean dishes 

 

What qualifications you will need: 

High School Diploma or GED Preferred
