Cardiovascular Surgical Institute of NW Florida is an ambulatory surgery center located in Panama City, FL. With two operating rooms, the center provides high-quality, cost-effective outpatient surgical care primarily for Cardiovascular procedures.

Role Summary:

The Cath Lab / Electrophysiology (EP) Technician provides technical and clinical support across both cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures. This role is responsible for pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedural assistance, and post-procedure activities while ensuring proper equipment functionality, accurate documentation, and strict adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols.

This position plays a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality cardiovascular care in a collaborative clinical environment.

Hours:

  • Monday-Friday (7am-4pm)

  • No nights, weekends, holidays, or call

What You’ll Do

  • Support Cardiac and Electrophysiology Procedures

  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including coronary angiography and PCI

  • Assist with electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implantations (pacemakers and ICDs)

  • Prepare procedure rooms with required equipment, supplies, and medications

  • Maintain sterile field and support efficient procedural workflow

  • Operate and Manage Equipment

  • Operate hemodynamic monitoring systems, EP recording systems, mapping systems, stimulators, and fluoroscopy equipment

  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, intracardiac electrograms, and hemodynamic data

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance as needed

  • Ensure Patient Safety and Monitoring

  • Verify patient identity, procedure, and consent prior to initiation

  • Monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status throughout procedures

  • Recognize and respond to emergent situations in collaboration with the clinical team

  • Documentation and Quality Support

  • Accurately document procedural data in real time across Cath and EP cases

  • Maintain logs, equipment records, and supply inventory

  • Support quality improvement initiatives and accreditation readiness

  • Maintain Compliance and Standards

  • Adhere to AAAHC, CMS, and applicable state regulatory requirements

  • Follow infection prevention and radiation safety protocols

  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA

What You’ll Bring

  • Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related field preferred

  • 1–2 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab, electrophysiology lab, or hybrid setting preferred

  • Florida radiologic technologist license

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • RCIS, RCES, or ARRT certification preferred (or required per facility policy)

  • Working knowledge of cardiac anatomy, coronary circulation, electrophysiology, and hemodynamics

  • Proficiency with Cath lab and EP lab equipment and monitoring systems

  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and communication skills
