Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab)
**Job Summary:**
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Cath Lab provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The RN prepares patients for procedures, monitors patient status throughout interventions, assists physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures, and provides post-procedure care while ensuring patient safety and high-quality outcomes.
**Requirements:**
* Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
* Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
* Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
* Moderate Sedation certification preferred or required per facility policy.
* Recent Cath Lab, ICU, CCU, ER, or critical care experience preferred.
**Responsibilities:**
* Prepare and assess patients before cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
* Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
* Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, and patient response throughout procedures.
* Administer medications, IV therapies, and moderate sedation as appropriate.
* Provide post-procedure monitoring, patient education, and discharge instructions.
* Recognize and respond to cardiac emergencies and changes in patient condition.
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records.
* Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.
* Follow infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
