We are seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse, sometimes referred to as a Cardiac RN or Cath Lab RN. A Cath Lab RN is essential in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of cardiac catheterization procedures, contributing significantly to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases specifically with the cardiac catheterization lab. 

 

** You must have experience in the Cath Lab or Critical Care area as a RN to move forward in this position.  Critical Care RN with experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Room (ER) or Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVIC) are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients, obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures (Pre-Procedure Preparation)
  • Assist cardiologists during procedures such as angioplasties, stent placements, electrophysiological studies, and other cardiac interventions (Intra-Procedure Assistance)
  • Monitoring patient post-procedure for complications, provide post-procedure instructions, and ensuring patient stability before discharge or transfer to another unit
  • Operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the catheterization lab, such as hemodynamic monitors and other diagnostic tools
  • Quickly respond to any emergencies or complications that arise during procedures, such as arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, or bleeding
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including pre-procedure assessments, intra-procedure details, and post-procedure outcomes
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac care and catheterization techniques
Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience

  1. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred.
  2. Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required.
  3. Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required.
  4. One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required
