Job Details Job Summary Under general supervision of the Cardiac Cath Lab charge Nurse functions as a member of the Cardiac Cath team. Maintains a therapeutic environment for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization. Provides direct patient care, assessment, planning and intervention.


Operates physiologic monitoring recorder and all related Cath Lab equipment. Assists with patient and procedure preparation. Functions as a scrub assistant during cardiac catheterization. Shares on-call work schedule.


The RN is responsible for supporting efforts to improve clinical and service excellence of patient care provided. RN s must be able to identify and apply care skills appropriate to the specific patient age groups served.


The RN will participate in the achievement of service targets and process goals. For the staff nurse III and IV, it is the responsibility of the RN to complete the requirements, and obtain the appropriate approvals, and submit the required information by the designated timeframes found in the SNAP policy # 8610-420.


Qualifications


REQUIREMENTS:


Minimum of 1 year experience in a CardiacCath Lab or 1 year experience in Interventional Radiology; Required and Completion of the Staff Nurse 1 criteria within six months of employment at Dominican Hospital, or entry level for the RN with one or more years of acute care experience and demonstrated ability as required for Staff Nurse I.


Licensure:


Registered Nurse: CA (RN:CA)


Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)


Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)


Preferred:


Required and Cross-trained to all three positions in the CCL Preferred
