Cardiology Cath Lab Tech (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) — Hyannis, MA


Join a hospital-based cardiology team in Hyannis, MA as a Cath Lab Tech performing invasive and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Provide patient-centered care, assist physicians during procedures, operate imaging and interventional equipment, and support electrophysiology (EP) program activities when required.


Minimum Requirements

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Experience in a hospital Cath Lab or interventional radiology environment. Specific acceptable paths include one of the following (client-specific requirements):
    1. Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist II (Job Code 8147): Associate degree or higher in Cardiovascular Technology, or associate degree plus a minimum of 3 years recent Cath Lab experience. RCIS certification preferred.
    2. Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist EP (Job Code 8153): Five years recent Cardiovascular EP experience OR any two of the following: Cardiac Interventional (CI), Vascular Interventional (VI), or RCIS certification. EP experience required for EP-specific roles.
    3. Special Procedures Technologist I (Job Code 8150): Graduate of a JRCERT accredited Radiologic Technology program, ARRT registration, and Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist licensure. Minimum two years post-technical school radiology experience or six months recent Special Procedures experience.
    4. Special Procedures Technologist II/III (Job Codes 8151–8153): Progressive radiology/Cath Lab experience, applicable certifications (RCIS, CI, VI), or completion of an EP training program as described in client job code criteria.
  • IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) course or documented competency as required by role.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • State licensure where applicable. Massachusetts radiologic technologist license required for ARRT-registered roles.
  • EP experience required for roles tied to EP responsibilities. RCIS, CI, or VI certifications are preferred where noted. These items are preferred when specified by the client.


Assignment Details

  • Facility type: Hospital.
  • City: Hyannis, MA.
  • Shift: Flex Shifts 07:00–15:00 (variable schedule).
  • Standard hours per week: 40.
  • Assignment type: Travel.
  • Duration: 13 week assignment.
  • Must be prepared to perform a range of procedures including endovascular, peripheral interventional, embolization, IVC filter placement, lytics, dialysis access procedures, PICC/port work, biopsies, non-vascular drains and tubes, and electrophysiology procedures for EP-qualified roles.


Role Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and hemodynamic recording during invasive procedures.
  • Operate interventional imaging equipment and support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Prepare sterile trays, set up equipment, administer contrast media per policy, and perform department inventory duties.
  • Provide patient education and maintain patient safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures.
  • Perform routine safety checks and preventive maintenance on interventional equipment.
  • Manage EP program responsibilities when assigned, including keeping current with EP developments and program tasks.
