    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced

    Cath Lab Technologist (RCIS/RCES)

    to support diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures within cardiac and vascular laboratory environments.

    The Cath Lab Technologist will work closely with credentialed providers and clinical teams to ensure safe and effective patient care during cardiovascular procedures. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced interventional cath lab setting.

    Essential Responsibilities

    Assist credentialed providers with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures.

    Serve as a scrub assistant or monitor/recorder during cardiology and radiology procedures.

    Prepare and position patients for invasive cardiovascular procedures.

    Perform cardiovascular testing and record patient hemodynamic activity using specialized electronic equipment and laboratory instruments.

    Manage arterial and venous access sites after procedures, including sheath removal and safe management of hemostatic devices.

    Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) equipment when required.

    Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms and communicate findings according to established protocols.

    Administer intra-coronary and/or intra-arterial medications under physician supervision.

    Maintain sterile fields using proper aseptic techniques.

    Prepare, maintain, and operate hemodynamic monitoring equipment.

    Start and maintain IV access with appropriate training and certification.

    Utilize equipment such as IVUS machines and Site Rite ultrasound systems.

    Perform basic and advanced life support procedures, including defibrillation when required.

    Perform point-of-care testing including:

    Activated Clotting Time (ACT)

    Oxygen saturation testing

    Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) analysis

    Educate patients regarding procedures and expectations.

    Participate in on-call responsibilities and respond onsite within 30 minutes when required.

    Maintain supplies, equipment, and clean work areas.

    Perform quality assurance activities and assist with equipment troubleshooting.

    Coordinate equipment service requests with vendors when needed.

    Assist with patient transportation as required.

    Required Qualifications

    Experience:

    Completion of an accredited invasive cardiovascular technologist training program, OR

    Two years of education in an allied health science field such as nursing, respiratory therapy, radiologic technology, or emergency medicine technology with comparable work experience.

    Minimum two years of recent hands-on experience in an Interventional Cath Lab environment.

    Certifications:

    Candidates must have or obtain one of the following certifications within 12 months of hire:

    Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)

    Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)

    ARRT Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification

    ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography Certification

    Additional required certifications:

    Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

    Basic Life Support (BLS)

    Additional Requirements

    Ability to respond within 30 minutes when assigned on-call emergency coverage.

    Ability to recognize and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias.

    Strong analytical skills to monitor patient conditions and perform hemodynamic calculations.

    Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment.

    Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

    Ability to work in a team-based healthcare partnership environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Five years of recent interventional cath lab experience.

    Current Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.

    Current Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification.
