1.0 SCOPE
The Musician shall be required to provide sufficient quantities of qualified musician personnel, to perform the required task for each services type described in this performance work statement (PWS), in support of the MCB Hawaii chapel.
2. CONTRACT OVERVIEW.
The Marine Corps Base chapel has many programs and religious ministries, Catholic and Protestant, to include programs such as worship services, bible studies and religious education, seasonal programs and services, and outreach programs. The Liturgical worship services Pianist/Organist services required are in support of the Catholic worship services, bible study and religious education programs at the Kaneohe Marine Corps Base (MCB) Hawaii chapel.
3.0 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENT/TASKING.
3.1 The Musician is required to provide Pianist/Organist services at the 0930 MCBH Catholic community service every week. Each service will last approximately one hour. The Musician shall be on site at least 15 minutes prior and 15 minutes after each service.
a. The musician is required to select appropriate music to be performed each week in consultation with the Catholic priest.
b. The proposed plan for such music shall be submitted to the technical representative (TR), Catholic priest, for review no later than the 15th of the month immediately preceding the month for which the music is required.
c. The musician is responsible for providing pianist/organist services each week, 1.5 hours per week, for 52 weeks per calendar year.
d. The musician is responsible for slide presentation of lyrics for each service if requested.
e. The rehearsals shall be conducted for approximately one (1) one-hour sessions per week and shall be coordinated with the TR or designee as to the specific time and place.
f. While a degree in music is not required; experience leading a worship service is preferred.
g. Musician shall be able to read and play traditional, contemporary, and new age music according to the religious services being rendered.
h. Must be familiar with the current liturgical traditions of the Catholic Church.
i. Has an exceptional ability to play piano and organ, direct a choir, and sing.
j. Recruit and train vocalists and instrumentalists from the congregation. Ideally, the choir would include several singers.
k. Coordinate microphone placement and usage and be responsible for proper storage of items after the service.
3.2 Special services: Perform worship services at special services, as necessary, to meet religious requirements for various holidays, Holy Days, seasonal services and other special needs. The Musician shall be on site at least 15 minutes prior and 15 minutes after each service.

c. Christmas: Masses to include Midnight Mass (starts at 11:00 pm to end at Midnight).
d. New Years Day Mary the Mother of God
e. Ash Wednesday
f. Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
g. Holy Thursday
h. Good Friday
i. Holy Saturday
j. Advent Reconciliation Service (reading, reflection, confessions).
k. Lent Reconciliation Service (also First Confessions held).

4.1 Place of Performance: Pianist services shall be conducted during the regular worship service held on Sundays at 0930 hours at Building 6677, MBCH Base Chapel. Rehearsals take place during a weekday evening.
4.2 Period of Performance: Up to Five Years on annual renewal by the government.
