The Comparative Bioscience Center provides a comprehensive program of animal care in support of the University s in vivo research. The goal of our staff is to provide investigators with the highest level of research support at the lowest cost while ensuring the welfare of the animals used in the research. The center is fully accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
Overview
The Supervisor of the Comparative Bioscience Center will oversee the work assignments of one (1) to two (2) Group Leaders and multiple Husbandry Attendants.

Position Qualifications:
Applicants should demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and experience with all applicable state and federal research regulations, as well as the ability to identify common laboratory conditions. They should also be capable of developing standard operating procedures for proper operations and have knowledge of various biohazardous agents and methods to mitigate exposure risk.
Physical tasks involve lifting weights ranging from 10 to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling equipment weighing up to 500 pounds, and climbing ladders, among other duties. Additionally, the role involves conducting physical workplace inspections, which necessitate the ability to sit, stand, and walk over varying distances and durations.
The schedule encompasses availability from Monday through Friday, with potential assignments on weekends, holidays, and on-call duty as needed. Job tasks may be subject to change based on departmental needs, and additional responsibilities may be added accordingly.
