Job Summary

The successful candidate will work as part of the College and Career Readiness team to provide mathematics instruction to students preparing for the GED, college entrance, or career advancement. Instruction includes basic math, fractions, decimals, percents, ratios, data analysis, algebra, measurement, geometry, problem solving, integers, and probability.

Typical Job Functions

• Provides instruction to students in assigned content area
• Develops related instructional materials (such as lectures, course materials, evaluation tools, classroom activities, and others) for face to face instruction
• Maintains consistent office hours
• Attends in-service and other departmental meetings each semester
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Math, or subject related field
• Formal classroom teaching experience
• Microsoft Office Suite experience
• Incumbent must reside in Idaho (Currently CEI doesn't sponsor Visas)

Additional Desired Qualifications

• Prior English and/or Math instruction experience teaching adults
• Prior experience with Adult Basic Education programs
• Bilingual (Spanish)

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.

On-site work is essential and regular predictable attendance is required. Employees may be required to work at occasional events and handle tasks outside of regular working hours.

Background Investigations:

Employment at College of Eastern Idaho will be contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation and may require a credit and/or motor vehicle background investigation depending on the position. Please refer to Policy 225: Background Checks
