Position Overview: We are currently seeking dedicated and empathetic Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistants to join our network of healthcare professionals. As a CDCA contracted through our staffing agency, you will have the opportunity to work in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, residential treatment centers, detoxification facilities, and outpatient programs. This flexible role offers the freedom to choose assignments based on your availability and preferences. Responsibilities: Provide direct support and assistance to licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (CDCs) in the delivery of substance abuse treatment services to clients. Assist with the intake process, including conducting screenings, assessments, and interviews to gather information about clients' substance use history, treatment needs, and goals. Participate in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and therapeutic interventions. Facilitate group therapy sessions, educational workshops, and support groups for clients in recovery, under the supervision of licensed counselors. Monitor clients' progress in treatment, observe behaviors, and document responses to interventions and treatment modalities. Assist with case management tasks, such as coordinating appointments, referrals, and follow-up services, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care. Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support to clients experiencing emotional distress or behavioral crises. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Qualifications: Completion of a state-approved Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant training program. Current and valid certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) in the state(s) of practice. Minimum of one year of experience working in the field of substance abuse treatment preferred. Knowledge of addiction counseling principles, techniques, and modalities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients and colleagues. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules as needed.
