    Registered Nurse (RN)
    Full-Time | Kansas City, MO | Office & Field | Exempt | $81,000-$86,000/Yearly + Full Benefits
     
    CDD is seeking a compassionate, experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical oversight and health support for individuals with developmental disabilities across our residential and community-based programs. As a key member of the nursing and clinical team, you will monitor acute and chronic health needs, coordinate medical care and hospital discharges, support person-centered plans, train direct support staff, and provide clinical guidance that helps individuals receive safe, consistent, high-quality care.

    What You'll Do
    Clinical Oversight & Care Coordination
    - Monitor medical services outlined in Person-Centered Plans, including physician orders, labs, dental, vision, hearing, seizure activity, and other health needs.
    - Review medical records monthly for an assigned caseload and monitor acute and chronic health conditions within the scope of RN practice.
    - Ensure physician orders accurately reflect medications on hand and help coordinate follow-up care when medical needs change.
    - Prepare health reviews for PCP/ISP meetings and participate in planning meetings as needed.
    - Coordinate transitions and follow-up after hospital stays for serious illness, injury, or other significant medical events.
    - Serve as a nursing contact for hospice or end-of-life care when needed and provide ancillary, palliative, or home-health support within licensure guidelines.
     
    Staff Training & DMH Compliance
    - Complete Community RN responsibilities as outlined by the Missouri Department of Mental Health.
    - Provide approved Level I Medication Administration training and nursing delegation as required by Missouri DMH.
    - Train staff and individuals on medications, medical conditions, and simple nursing tasks appropriate for delegation or instruction.
    - Consult on medically sensitive cases and provide clear clinical guidance to non-medical staff.
     
    Documentation & Communication
    - Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and communicate changes in health status to appropriate team members.
    - Collaborate with agency staff, medical providers, and state or county personnel regarding individual medical needs and services.
    - Participate in the medical on-call rotation to provide nursing advice and direction as needed.
     
    What You Bring

    - Associate degree or other qualifying nursing degree from an accredited nursing program.
    - Current, active Registered Nurse license in the State of Missouri.
    - Current CPR certification.
    - Sufficient clinical and field experience to meet applicable state requirements and complete required medication administration, First Aid, CPR, and nursing delegation training.
    - Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
    - Ability to travel throughout the Kansas City metro using a personal or agency vehicle as needed.
    Preferred
    - Two or more years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
    - Experience with Missouri DMH Community RN requirements, medication administration training, nursing delegation, or residential/ISL services.
    - Experience supporting individualized program development, person-centered planning, or medically complex individuals.

    - Pay: $81,000-$86,000/yearly plus full benefits package.
    - Schedule: Full-time | Core hours vary based on program needs | Some evenings and weekends may be required
    - Work Setting: Office and field-based; group homes and Independent Supported Living (ISL) settings across the Kansas City metro
    - Travel: Daily or as-needed travel throughout the metropolitan area using a personal or agency vehicle 
    - On-Call: Participates in medical on-call coverage for nursing advice and direction
