Minimum Qualifications
Education
Strongly preferred associate degree in health information management or similar field. Clinical background-LPN, RN, Case Manager, Clinical Documentation Integrity, or Outpatient Coder with 3+ years of experience strongly desired.
Credentials Required within 12 months of hire. CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist – Physician Based) – AHIMA CPC (Certified Professional Coder) – AAPC
Work Environment
Office setting with standard office desks and/or cubicles. Continuous use of computer, photocopy machines, and printers. Works with very frequent interruptions.
Physical Demands
1. Stand and/or walk occasionally.
2. Sit constantly.
3. Lift floor to waist height 30 pounds occasionally; waist to waist 25 pounds occasionally; waist to overhead 20 pounds occasionally. And carry 10 pounds up to 25 feet occasionally.

Essential Functions
1. Assist the RAC Coordinator in reviewing designated cases and provide ongoing educational outreach to clinical providers.
2. Collaborate with vendor partners to conduct physician and coding audits, ensuring timely reporting and communication of findings to the coding team and clinical providers.
3. Design instructional tools to facilitate efficient coding processes across clinical departments and for providers professional level of service.
4. Serve as the primary liaison between clinical providers and the GPH Coding Team to enhance documentation accuracy, ensuring proper support for billing levels and coding requirements.
5. Assisting clinicians in structuring their clinical documentation to align with industry guidelines and billing compliance.
6. Analyze denied claims to determine the cause and execute corrective measures.
7. Streamline and unify coding and documentation training across the organization, creating a consistent curriculum for new-provider onboarding and ongoing educational support.
