Cdl-A Driver

Position Overview:

As a CDLA Driver you are responsible for safely maneuvering tractor-trailer combinations to deliver products to and from customers and other facilities. This position requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety protocols.

Responsibilities:

Hooking up a tractor to a trailerPerforming pre-trip and post-trip evaluations of trailer and tractor; completing additional inspections as neededUnloading or unhooking drop trailers at various locationsOperating electric pallet and manual pallet jacks on varying surfacesMounting and dismounting equipment approximately 54 inches off ground level on surfaces that may be pitches and/or wet and slipperyClimbing to a height of 54 inches using steps and objects ranging in height from 6 to 19 inchesSitting in conditions of constant vibration for periods of time up to 16 hoursHandling all pertinent records accurately and legiblyReporting all safety issues in a timely mannerFollowing directions in print form and/or by computerized displayMaintaining a safe and clean working environmentFlexibility to work various or additional shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPerform other duties as assigned by leadership

Compensation:

$27.00 - $31.50Plus an additional up to $7.00 incentive

Experience:

Preferred: Proficiency in English (written and verbal) to effectively communicate with associates, leadership and customersRequired:3 years minimum active driving experienceRequired: CDL-A License required (Valid & Active) for vehicles up to gross weight of 80,000 pounds for inter-state commerceRequired: 21+ years or older

Skills:

Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift; securing adequate rest between work assignments and abide by all DOT regulationsPhysical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment - getting on and off equipment throughout shiftStrong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basisOrganizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlinesWorking in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest qualityQuality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
