McLean Contracting Company is looking for experienced CDL-A Drivers to join our Traffic Division team in the Baltimore, MD region.

CDL Drivers are responsible for safe operation, maintenance, security, inspection, and appearance of tractor trailers and stake body vehicles. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid CDL-A license, a valid TWIC and 2+ years of relevant experience.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to, the following:

• Operates tractor trailer to transport materials and construction equipment
• Possesses special skills to maintain control of the vehicle while backing up, turning corners, and negotiating narrow

passageways

• Ensures that loads are properly distributed, secured with chains, binders, or straps and within maximum height, width, and

weight limitations

• Loads and unloads truck as necessary
• Operates all types of tractor trailer combinations in a safe manner
• Performs or assists mechanics in truck repair
• Performs daily inspection of tractor trailer combination for wear and safety

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or two (2) years related experience and /or training; or

equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation to work, and able to pass a Department of Transportation physical.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License. Hazmat endorsement not required but is a plus.
• Must be able to pass a Homeland Security background check to qualify for a Transportation Worker Indentification Card (TWIC).

Pay \u2013 $18 \u2013 $35 per hour
