CDL A - Heavy Duty Tow Truck Driver

Accepting applications until: June 3, 2026 at 10:33 AM EST\n \nLocation: BRIGHTON, MI 48116\n \nPosition Description\n \nThe primary function of the Heavy Tow Truck Driver is to drive a standard wrecker, flat bed, heavy duty flat bed, medium duty flat bed, or heavy-duty wrecker in order to provide towing and roadside assistance for minor mechanical repairs such as batteries and tires. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Towing Manager.\n \nWilling to train CDL class A Driver.\n \nSchedule: Day Shift including possible weekend coverage.\n \nEssential Job Functions:\n\n Able to operate all vehicles assigned to them.\n Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, checking that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.\n Load cargo as instructed at designed location. Secure all cargo for safe transport.\n Maintain logs of hours and of vehicles service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.\n Work with dispatch to calculate the most efficient and effective driving routes.\n Inform dispatch and safety of any DOT fines, citations or any other relevant issues.\n Communicate with Dispatch in regard to any potential customer issues such as complaints, spills, leaks, incidents, accidents, injuries and vehicle issues.\n Communicate with maintenance in regard to any vehicle issues or needs and report any issues immediately.\n Maintain order and cleanliness of truck at all times.\n Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to checking oil and fuel levels.\n Complete all "pre-trip" requirements before each truck run and "post-trip" requirements at the end of each shift.\n Handle exposure to heavy traffic, dust, fumes, high and low temperatures, slippery surfaces, low-lighted work areas and high noise levels and handle high levels of stress.\n Able to drive in hazardous conditions, including inclement weather, tight quarters, and inner-city locations.\n Able to push 96 pounds, lift 63 pounds, pull 130 pounds and climb ladder with a minimum of 3 rungs regularly.\n Able to read and navigate road maps and GPS systems and communicate via written orders and instructions.\n Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.\n Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.\n Able to effectively perform responsibilities under a high level of stress.\n Good interpersonal skills. Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers and co-workers at all times.\n Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.\n Perform any other duties as may be assigned\n \nSkills and Qualifications:\n\n Valid CDL class A license is required.
