Cornerstone Driver Solutions is recruiting qualified CDL-A drivers for a dedicated local intermodal opportunity based in the Hutchins/Lancaster, Texas area.

Pay & Compensation

$1,000–$1,100 Average Weekly Earnings

This dedicated account uses multiple pay components:

  • $0.55 CPM
  • $29 per completed load
  • $20 stop pay
  • Approximately 1,000 miles per week
  • Typically 3–5 loads per shift

The combination of mileage, load pay and stop pay provides an average weekly earning range of approximately $1,000–$1,100.

Average weekly earnings are not guaranteed. Actual compensation may vary based on miles, loads, stops, routes, dispatch, freight volume and applicable carrier pay programs.

Schedule & Home Time

Tuesday–Saturday | Night Shift | Home Daily

This is a home-daily night-shift position.

  • Tuesday through Saturday
  • Night-shift operation
  • 3–5 loads per shift
  • Sunday and Monday generally scheduled off
  • Weekend work required
  • Typical start times after 4:00 PM
  • Exact start times may vary based on dispatch and terminal operations

This is not a Monday–Friday daytime position.

Drivers must be comfortable working nights and maintaining a Tuesday–Saturday schedule.

Freight & Intermodal Operations

Mostly Drop & Hook

Drivers primarily perform:

  • Drop-and-hook moves
  • Container pickups and deliveries
  • Preloaded container moves
  • Chassis operations
  • Intermodal terminal movements
  • Multiple loads during each shift

The account typically handles 3–5 loads per shift, depending on dispatch and freight volume.

The operation may also include occasional live loads and live unloads.

Important Freight Disclosure

This is primarily a drop-and-hook operation, but it is not 100% drop & hook.

Drivers should be comfortable with occasional live loading and unloading when required.

Equipment

Drivers operate dedicated intermodal equipment, including:

  • Automatic-transmission day cabs
  • Intermodal containers
  • Container chassis
  • Slip-seat equipment

Important

This is a slip-seat operation.

Drivers should not expect a permanently assigned take-home tractor.

Operating Area

The position operates within an approximately 250-mile operating area surrounding the Hutchins/Lancaster terminal.

Drivers should be comfortable operating around:

  • Intermodal terminals
  • Rail facilities
  • Container yards
  • Chassis operations
  • Local and regional highways
  • Urban traffic and commercial areas

Despite the operating area, the position is designed around daily home time.

Hiring Area

Applicants must live within approximately 30 miles of ZIP Code 75134.

Because drivers report to the terminal for scheduled shifts, reliable transportation to and from the terminal is required.

CDL-A Driver Requirements

Qualified applicants must generally have:

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum 3 months qualifying tractor-trailer experience
  • Safe and responsible driving history
  • Ability to work Tuesday–Saturday nights
  • Weekend availability
  • Ability to operate intermodal equipment
  • Comfort with drop-and-hook operations
  • Comfort operating containers and chassis
  • Ability to work in a slip-seat day-cab operation
  • Reliable transportation to and from the terminal
  • Dependable attendance
  • Ability to meet applicable DOT requirements
  • Ability to meet carrier hiring and safety requirements
