GENERAL PURPOSE
The Local Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting raw materials, components, and finished goods between the company's warehouse in Morganton, NC and production facility in Hildebran, NC. This position supports manufacturing operations by ensuring timely, efficient, and safe movement of materials throughout the day. The driver is responsible for operating company equipment in compliance with all applicable DOT regulations, maintaining equipment condition, and promoting a safe work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safely operate a CDL tractor-trailer to transport materials between company facilities and designated local locations.
Complete multiple daily shuttle runs between the Morganton warehouse and Hildebran production facility.
Ensure on-time pickup and delivery of raw materials, components, and finished products to support production schedules.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
Communicate regularly with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and production teams regarding scheduling, delivery status, or issues affecting operations.
Load, secure, and transport materials in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
Operate equipment safely while working in warehouse, dock, yard, and production facility environments.
Comply with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), state, and local regulations.
Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with employees, customers, vendors, and visitors.
Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and company initiatives.
Assist with additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of recent tractor-trailer driving experience required.
Local delivery, shuttle, or city driving experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) required.
Current DOT Medical Certification required.
Must meet all company and DOT requirements for insurability.
Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
Ability to safely operate tractor-trailers and related equipment.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Dependable, safety-focused, and team-oriented.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to pass a driving skills evaluation, pre-employment drug screening, and background review.
Must maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with company standards.
Ability to climb in and out of trucks, perform vehicle inspections, and work in varying weather conditions.
