We're hiring a Class A CDL Yard Driver for a dedicated distribution center in Chester, New York. This position is ideal for drivers who enjoy staying local and working in a fast-paced yard environment.
You'll move trailers within the facility, spot trailers at loading docks, and help keep yard operations running efficiently—all while returning home every day.
Yard driving experience is accepted and counts toward the experience requirement.
Pay & Compensation
- Average Weekly Earnings:$1,240–$1,250
- Hourly Pay:$23.00/hour
- Overtime Pay:$34.50–$36.00/hour after 40 hours
- Holiday Pay:$180 per eligible holiday
- Training Pay:$200 per day
- Weekly direct deposit
Overtime opportunities are common and can significantly increase weekly earnings.
Home Time & Schedule
- Home Daily
- Sunday through Thursday
- Start time around 6:00 PM
- Approximately 45–60 hours per week
- Overtime available after 40 hours
- Thanksgiving and Christmas typically off
- New Year's schedule varies
What You'll Do
- Move trailers throughout the distribution yard
- Spot trailers into and out of loading docks
- Perform trailer moves between parking areas and dock doors
- Couple and uncouple trailers
- Raise and lower landing gear
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections
- Help maintain safe and organized yard operations
This position operates entirely within the facility—no road driving is required.

Work Environment
This is a physically active position requiring drivers to:
- Frequently climb in and out of equipment
- Walk throughout the yard
- Couple and uncouple trailers
- Operate landing gear
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of CDL-A experience
- Yard driving experience is accepted
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Comfortable performing physical work throughout the shift
- Able to work outdoors year-round
- Ability to pass DOT drug screening, background check, and company hiring requirements
